The Golden Rule: Cleaning & Reset Policy
We run the Creative Campus as lean as possible so it can stay affordable and accessible to all artists. That means we don’t build hidden cleaning costs into your rental — instead, we trust each renter to follow the Golden Rule: treat the space the way you’d want to find it.
Please reset the studio to how you found it at the end of your booking: furniture, props, and gear back in place, and the space tidy. This ensures the next creative can walk in inspired, just like you did.
This is where planning your shoots with enough time is key; a $75 reset fee will be applied if the studio is not reset. But more than the fee, it’s about respect: treating your fellow creatives the way you’d want to be treated.

Your reserved time includes setup and breakdown. Please plan accordingly and book extra time if you’ll need longer for load-in, staging, or cleanup.
This helps us keep the calendar fair for everyone and ensures each renter has the space they need, when they need it. Booking generously removes the stress of rushing and allows you and your team to stay creative and focused.
-
Where can I park?
We offer both on-site lot parking and street parking.
Please note: the spots adjacent to Gene’s Camera alongside their building are reserved for their customers and cannot be used for studio bookings.

Some gear on hand for use, and if you ever forget something, Gene’s Camera — our neighborhood camera store — is right next door with studio essentials and supplies.

-
We keep some basic gear on hand to support your shoot. For rentals beyond that, we connect you with:
The Film Dpt. — run by filmmaker Joshua Martin (@cinedailies), offering a curated selection of film gear for rent locally.
Gene’s Camera — our neighbor across the lot, an independent camera store with some photography gear for rent, and other photography gear, and studio essentials available for purchase.
Together, these local resources make it easy to access the tools you need while supporting South Bend’s creative community.
-
Can I bring food and drinks?
Yes — water is always available for you when you arrive, and outside food and drinks are welcome. We just ask that you clean up after yourself so the space is ready for the next renter. -
Are pets allowed?
Absolutely — we love animals and see them as part of the creative fam! Pets are always welcome at the Creative Campus! We simply ask that they’re supervised and cared for during your booking so that they stay safe and the studios remain ready for the next project.

PLEASE NOTE: The Barn is NOT available as a standalone rental. It can only be added to The Glass Box or included with The Art Block.
-
Insurance & Liability
Productions with more than 10 people on site require a Certificate of Insurance (COI) naming Area Hall Art House as additional insured.
Smaller shoots may not require a COI, but all clients are fully liable for any damages, injuries, or incidents that occur during their booking.
-
Studio Rules
Please, no smoking, vaping, or open flames inside the buildings.
For everyone’s sanity, no glitter, confetti, powder, or other materials that are difficult to clean.
Be sure to include set-up and clean-up time within your booking so your team isn’t rushed and the next group can start on time.
Use care when hanging or attaching anything — nothing may be affixed to walls, floors, or ceilings without permission.
Please take all gear, props, and personal items with you at the end of your booking so the studio is ready for the next artist.
Thank you in advance for respecting these guidelines — they help keep the campus welcoming and ready for everyone’s creativity.
